      This week in our remote arts class we are looking This week in our remote arts class we are looking at the life and work of @kehindewiley and his portraits & how they connect to classical Renaissance portraits. Students are exploring how to create their own digitally.
      Earth art- student work “Earth is suffering from Earth art- student work “Earth is suffering from plastic. Animals die and the ocean gets polluted. Plastic is an important part of our lives and that is one of the major reasons why plastic pollution is a difficult problem to solve. The plastic pollution can be solved through less use of plastic and proper recycling of it. I have thought that most of the plastic was recycled but, according to GreenPeace, only about 9% of it is recycled. My drawing focuses on the marine animals, especially turtles that are harmed by plastic in the ocean. The drawing was focused on the turtle. The turtle was emphasized and illustrated how turtles can consume plastic because they are confused with jellyfish. I tried to compare the plastic bag and jellyfish and how they looked similar. My purpose was to tell the viewers to be more aware of this plastic pollution problem. Not only the turtles are getting harmed, other marine animals consume plastic. Plastic definitely harms our environment and the animals. Since it is our environment, we should protect and take care of it. Less plastic use and proper recycling is needed to save the marine animals.”
      Earth art! “The issue I chose to address is micr Earth art! “The issue I chose to address is microplastics. Microplastics are plastics smaller than 5mm, they are usually pieces of plastic broken down by erosion. A research conducted by the Arizona State University found microplastics in almost all the participants. My artwork depicts a fish with its inside filled with plastic. I drew a outline of a fish and filled it in with pieces of plastic bags. This is a important issue since microplastics are often deadly when consumed by marine creatures. And when said marine creatures are eaten by humans, the microplastics can cause health issues.”
      Earth Art - student work- This artwork is titled P Earth Art - student work- This artwork is titled Plastic Flowers and addresses the contemporary issue of pollution. This projects serves to convey the idea that typical thrown-away objects could be decorative objects with a new form.
