Soaking up the Mallorcan Sunshine

Soaking up the spanish sunshine!
Soaking up the spanish sunshine!

As I write this post from the Alps, it has been about one week since we have been back from an amazing post winter season break in Mallorca. I am still feeling the warmth of the spanish sun on my skin.

Since we have been back it has been raining, sleeting and snowing and it’s the 20th of May. Going from flip flops to heavy fleeces…here we are back in the alps preparing for our next adventure to come just around the corner!A view from my bike of the amazing countryside

We have gone to the same amazing and peaceful spot in Mallorca for many years now. This time, Grandma Natalie joined us for some spanish sunshine and we all soaked it all in! IMG_0126Time passed slowly…we watched sandcastles being built and celebrated being together as a family and also our successful hard efforts of the winter season.

A welcomed mid ride stop. Riding 125km on my 3rd ride of the season …. wee longer than expected!

Long cafe stops….with great italian coffee.

Long cycle ride….Mallorca is a great place to ride and has become a real hub as a base for proteams.

The whole family got out cycling. What a pleasure it was to ride on roads with little traffic, great surfaces and amazing countryside.

Amazing home made italian gelatos which we frequented more than often, and some really good technical trail running.

Birken and I had a few good runs together and we are setting up for our next adventure. He is working on his next career as a movie editor and a pacer.

The pace slowed: no agendas, no training plans, bringing kids to and from activities.

Live in the present….and enjoy each moment.
